Aviators Clinch MVL Crown In 10-0 Win Over Stebbins

VANDALIA - The Aviators secured some familiar hardware Wednesday afternoon, putting the exclamation point on Senior Night with a 10-0, MVL Championship clinching win over Stebbins.

The league title is the 22nd for Butler under head coach Trent Dues and merely the tip of the iceberg for what this team hopes to achieve in 2024.

Senior Austin Flohre made the most of his final regular season game at home, clobbering the Indians pitching staff in a 3-for-3, four RBI performance that also included a double.

Senior pitcher Landon Case (5-1) earned the win for Butler with three strong innings from the mound, where he allowed just one hit and struck out seven. Case also helped his cause at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Seniors Mitch Strehle, Alex Ables and Sam Mitchell also fittingly added RBI contributions in the run-rule win.

The Aviators improve to 19-6, 16-1 and can win the MVL Miami Division outright Thursday, with a win over Greenville at 5:00 pm.
