Aviators Cruise Past Justice 8-3


MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Aviators won the first of two scheduled games Tuesday afternoon, dispatching the Justice Wolves (VA) by a score of 8-3.


Senior pitcher Landon Case (1-0) notched the win from the bump for Butler, working five innings of one hit baseball, while striking out three. Case was relieved by sophomore Owen Strawser who pitched the final two innings.


Butler plated single runs in the second, third and fourth innings - and erupted in the fifth inning for five runs, blowing the game wide open.


Junior Brody Miller went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI and a double, freshman Koby Dues had a hit and two RBI. Senior Austin Flohre finished 2-for4 with two runs and junior Max Rubins was 3-for-3 with an RBI.


The win lifts Butler to 2-0 on the season, heading into a nightcap match-up with Union County, out of South Carolina at 9:00 pm.
