PIQUA - Butler improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play with a resounding 26-1 win over the host Piqua Indians Tuesday evening.
The Aviators scored early and often, as Butler scattered 17-hits and racked up three doubles. Senior Matt Heeter added some late inning fireworks with a two-run homer in the top of the fifth.
Offensively a host of Aviators had a multi-hit night. Senior Carson Clark finished 3-for-3 with a double, four runs and two RBI. Fellow senior Bitty Hendricks went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and three RBI.
Junior Joe Mendy, along with seniors Dylan Hartman and Mike Masters also added three RBI each in the win.
On the mound, Kaden Echeman went two innings and allowed just one hit enroute to the victory.
Echeman was relieved by Cason Bennett, Jordan Taylor and Evan Ables - who each worked an inning and notched a strikeout.
Butler will return to action on Friday at home, playing host to Stebbins at 5:00 pm.
