SIDNEY - The Aviators (5-2, 3-0) remained perfect in MVL play Friday evening, with a 7-1 win over host Sidney.
Led by the duo of freshman Koby Dues 3-for-5 and senior catcher Mitch Strehle (3-for-4, 1 RBI) at the plate, the Aviators scattered 11 hits in the lopsided win.
Junior Hunter Richardson (1-for-2) added two RBI, while junior Mason Reckner, freshman Jackson Schilling and senior Zak Stroble each added an RBI of their own.
On the hill, Butler senior Alex Ables (1-0) earned the win for the Aviators, working six innings striking out six and did not allow an earned run.
Sophomore Owen Strawser came on to close out the victory, pitching the final inning and allowed just one hit and notched a strikeout.
The Aviators are back at it on Saturday, traveling east to take on West Clermont in Grove City, as part of the Prep Baseball Report Spring Classic. First pitch is tentatively scheduled for 3:00 pm.
