Butler Crashed Greenwave 17-6

GREENVILLE – The upset minded Greenwave got the run support that they desperately needed Friday evening, but could not contain a red-hot Aviators offense, as Butler once again run-ruled Greenville 17-6.

The Aviators found themselves down 3-2 after an inning of play, but put together a two out rally in the second inning, plating eight runs and seizing control of the game.

Sophomore Jordan Taylor (3-0) earned the win for Butler, striking out six through three innings of work. Taylor was relieved by Junior Evan Ables who came on and closed out the win with two strong innings of shutout pitching and six strikeouts.

Senior Gage Harestad had a statement day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Fellow senior and DH Mitch Thomas also made his presence known, with a 3-for-4, two RBI performance.

Hunter Richardson and Jayden Watkins had two RBI each, while Joe Mendy, Tyler Severance, Luke Mitchell and Cason Bennett each had an RBI.

Mitchell, Bennett and Richardson each tripled in the victory for Butler.

The win lifts Butler to 6-1, 3-0 setting the stage for a critical week of MVL match-ups versus Sidney and Troy.
