MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Butler (2-0) again dominated, dispatching Friends Central (PA) by a score of 8-1.
Sophomore Jordan Taylor (1-0) notched his first win of the season, working 4 2/3 innings striking out five, while allowing just three hits.
Taylor was relived by junior Evan Ables, who closed out the victory by holding the Phoenix scoreless through the final 2 1/3 innings.
At the plate Butler was paced by Gage Harestad who was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and a triple. Joe Mendy was also 2-for-2, while Josh Morris went 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI.
Max Rubins, Jayden Watkins, Cason Bennett and Cayden Borchers each added an RBI in the win.
The Aviators return to action on Thursday with a doubleheader to close out their Myrtle Beach road-trip.
