VANDALIA — There’s a certain predictability to the way Butler plays baseball—and it has nothing to do with routine.
It’s the kind of consistency that comes from execution: strikes thrown, smart swings, and pressure applied until the other side bends. On Monday, the formula held firm once again.
Behind a steady start from Davis Ketterer (3-0) and a patient offensive effort, the Aviators rolled to an 11–1 win over West Carrollton, completing the series sweep and improving to 12–0, 7-0.
Ketterer set the tone on both sides of the ball. From the bump, he worked four clean innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four.
At the plate, he went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs—including a two-run knock that helped break things open in the fourth.
Mason Reckner continued to swing a hot bat, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including a line-drive double in the first to jumpstart the offense.
Max Rubins matched that effort with a 2-for-3 day of his own, driving in two runs and swiping a pair of bases. Koby Dues added to the extra-base parade with a double to left in the third.
The Aviators worked eight walks and stole six bases, turning patient plate appearances into steady pressure throughout the afternoon.
Brody Miller reached base twice and scored a run from the nine-hole, helping fuel the lineup from the bottom up.
Will Kitchen came on and closed things out with two innings of relief, allowing one run on one hit while striking out one.
Next up for Butler is a Wednesday MVL matchup against Fairborn as they look to keep the early-season momentum rolling.
