Butler Wears Down Xenia 12-1

XENIA — It doesn’t take much for the Aviators to impose their will.

Just a few openings.

And Butler made sure they found every one of them against the Buccaneers.

The Aviators stayed perfect on the season Monday, moving to 15–0 (10–0 MVL) with a 12–2 win over Xenia that felt decided long before the final out.

Hunter Richardson (4-0) took care of the early work, throwing three hitless innings with five strikeouts and letting his defense handle the rest.

When Xenia blinked — a pair of first-inning errors — Butler pounced. Mason Reckner and Davis Ketterer delivered RBI hits, and the Aviators were off and running with a 3–0 lead.

The Bucs hung around early but never gained footing.

In the fourth, Butler blew it open.

Seven hits, a three-run double from Koby Dues, RBI singles from Jackson Schilling and Max Rubins — it was the kind of inning the Aviators have made a habit of this season.

Pressure at the plate. Pressure on the bases. No letup.

By the time Xenia answered in the sixth, Butler had already slammed the door.

Dues finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Ketterer, Schilling, and Brody Miller each turned in two-hit games. Schilling, Reckner, and Russell Stratman each stole multiple bases, as Butler swiped six bags on the afternoon and kept the Bucs on their heels.

Richardson, Will Kitchen, and Owen Strawser combined for eight strikeouts, allowing just two hits across six innings of work.

The series shifts to Vandalia on Wednesday, where Butler will look to do what they’ve done all season — show up, set the tone, and slam the door.
